Walk With God???

                   Hello I'm David Nevills i'm not really sure what blogging really is but here it goes. I was in the middle of a painting project and I just stepped away. I was looking through my collections of photo's and found this photo and thought I'd share it with you.

While I was editing the photo, I was inspired by these words, 'The Man who walks with God always gets to his destination." Afterwards I was quickened and reminded of Enoch. You might be saying to yourself Enoch, why would he be inspired by Enoch. And where is he going with this follow me.

Well you see the Bible says, in Genesis 5:23-24 …So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him. This is all the detail it gives you, until you get over into the New Testament.

Then you find out the why. I was told by my mentor and friend. Always ask why? For it is in the why that you have the opportunity for a lesson to be learned and growth.

So with that said, In Hebrews 11:5, You find out why, it gives you the why; It says, It was by faith that Enoch was taken to heaven. He never died. He could not be found, because God had taken him away. Before he was taken, the Scripture says that he was a man who truly pleased God.

So in this Scripture you find that it was his faith that pleased God. 

While thinking on that scripture another one comes to mind, Hebrews 11:6  Without faith no one can please God. Anyone who comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who truly want to find him.

So if it's faith that pleases God?

My question would be where can I get this faith, so that I too can please God?

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 

1. Listen twice

So you must hear, but not just any voice, you must hear the right voice.

1 John 4:1-6 says, My dear friends, don’t believe everything you hear. Carefully weigh and examine what people tell you. Not everyone who talks about God comes from God. There are a lot of lying preachers loose in the world.

2-3 Here’s how you test for the genuine Spirit of God. Everyone who confesses openly his faith in Jesus Christ—the Son of God, who came as an actual flesh-and-blood person—comes from God and belongs to God. And everyone who refuses to confess faith in Jesus has nothing in common with God. This is the spirit of antichrist that you heard was coming. Well, here it is, sooner than we thought!

4-6 My dear children, you come from God and belong to God. You have already won a big victory over those false teachers, for the Spirit in you is far stronger than anything in the world. These people belong to the Christ-denying world. They talk the world’s language and the world eats it up. But we come from God and belong to God. Anyone who knows God understands us and listens. The person who has nothing to do with God will, of course, not listen to us. This is another test for telling the Spirit of Truth from the spirit of deception.

2. Hearing by the Word of God

Hebrews 1:1-2 Long ago God spoke in many different ways to our fathers through the prophets, in visions, dreams, and even face to face, telling them little by little about his plans. But now in these last days he has spoken to us through his Son to whom he has given everything and through whom he made the world and everything there is.

Remember up top I told you what my mentor said always ask why for in asking why there is a opportunity for a lesson to be learned and growth. 

Now the question you should be asking is why did God allow me to find this blog?

I don't know. But what I do know is that,

When a man’s steps follow the Lord, God is pleased with his ways. Psalm 37:23 (ICB)

          The King James Bible says it this way, The steps of a good man

    (man, woman, boy, girl) are ordered by the Lord: and he delights

    in his way. Psalms 37:23

You may be a man reading this blog. God says to you Proverbs 20:6  Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful (full of faith) man who can find?

To the young man or young woman, God says to you, Remember [earnestly] also your Creator [that you are not your own, but His property now] in the days of your youth, before the evil days come or the years draw near when you will say [of physical pleasures], I have no enjoyment in them— Ecclesiastes 12:1

To the woman, God says to you, The woman to be admired and praised is the woman who lives in the Fear of God. Give her everything she deserves! These good deeds of hers shall bring her honor and recognition from people of importance. -Proverbs 31:31

So to all both small and great, young and old, male and female. 

Hear the Conclusion of the whole matter:

Words from wise men are like sharp sticks used to guide animals. These words are like nails that have been driven in firmly. They are wise teachings that come from God the Shepherd. So be careful, my son, about other teachings. People are always writing books. And too much study will make you very tired.

Now, everything has been heard.

    Here is my final advice:

Honor God and obey his commands.

    This is the most important thing people can do.

God knows everything people do,

    even the things done in secret.

He knows all the good and all the bad.

    He will judge everything people do. -Ecclesiastes 12: 11-14

        Here's My prayer for everyone that reads this blog and who

    may never read this blog. 

    I Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my

    prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of

    glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in

    the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being

    enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling,

    and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the

    saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-

    ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty

    power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the

    dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly

    places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and

    dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world,

    but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under

    his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the

    church, (the called out one) Which is his body, the fulness of

    him that fills all in all. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
